Managing for Results™

Achieving change requires alignment among numerous stakeholders. The combined input of all does not guarantee success. Many change efforts are derailed, often without a clear understanding of why. To address these challenges, our "Managing for Results" framework has helped our clients manage change by ensuring alignment, accountability amongst stakeholders, and measurability of results.

The "Managing for Results Framework" is a toolkit for fact-based management which uses a structured methodology to help teams clarify goals, plan their "pathway to success", and maintain accountability through measurable commitments. Ultimately the methodology helps to create a fact-based culture for defining, assessing and achieving results on an ongoing basis.

Cross-functional teams work backwards from their goals to identify necessary and sufficient conditions for realizing those goals.  By working backwards, the organization creates a clear and manageable “line of sight” from corporate goals to departmental and individual activities. They then identify and commit to concrete indicators that show when each condition has been met.  Such indicators allow for fact-based assessments of progress. Finally they take actions and hold consistent review sessions to ensure accountability and progress.
